HOW CAREFREE SUPPORTS INTERMEDIATE CARE @ HOME – OUTSTANDING
C CQC – The Carefree Homecare Scheduling system plays an essential part in the delivery of Care Plus Group’s (CPG) Intermediate Care @ Home’s Safe, Responsive, Caring, Well led and Effective service. Carefree has really supported Intermediate Care @ Home success in achieving Outstanding, in 3 areas and high good in 2, in 2016 and 2018. This allows us to meet all the standards required by CQC in terms of a ‘real’ response to Service Users receiving person centred care with all preferences considered i.e. time of call; no male support worker or any other tailor-made requirements we are asked to accommodate.
A Accountable for ensuring updates, improvements and upgrades are delivered to Intermediate Care @ Home in a timely manner and always with a focus of enhancing the existing service. This includes
- Roadrunner replacing Ezitracker, introduction of new phones
- Training received via Webinars. This accountability is shared as Carefree is supported and backed up by our own network F4IT – CPGs own IT
- Business section – absolutely fabulous!
R Relationships with Carefree staff have been embedded since 2007 when the partnership first started. Staff have changed over the years both at Carefree and CPG. What has not changed is the quality of the relationship, the service provided or the skill set on both sides of this professional, operational and technical relationship that allows performance at Intermediate Care @ Home to be consistently high.
E Effective – service delivery is an absolute must if we are to achieve Outstanding at our next inspection. Carefree will play, again, a very critical role in this process. Rota allocation, staff information, sickness, annual leave and any other away periods are identified to enable robust monitoring of allocated planned and actual delivered hours. CPG has a range of backroom facilities which include IT, Human Resources, Performance and Finance and the range of functionality provided by Carefree enhances the ability to provide immediate and accurate data.
F First rate! The system is cost effective and meets our current needs. The visit by Paul Crawshaw (Accounts Manager) was really useful and we would like to see someone in person more often if possible. It was great to put faces to names at the event last July in Wakefield which was very informative and the goody bags were really first rate. We look forward to the 2020 conference.
R Responsive is one of CQC’s key words that identifies whether our service is meeting the needs of the Service User both planned and un-planned. It also relates to our responses to business continuity, health and safety or local crisis situations such as provision of support outside of immediate sphere. Intermediate Care @ Home responds to requests from the local hospital and from the CCG our main commissioners. Carefree allows the team to immediately identify capacity levels and to manipulate calls to free up staff to respond to such requests. Being responsive enhances our reputation within the local community and having immediate access to staff rotas and other relevant information influences our ability to do this.
E Excellent – Care free is a user friendly internal data base that delivers in all elements required from our service. Move of the mouse and Carefree is easily accessible when we need to demonstrate functionality, purpose and benefits to Intermediate Care @ Home at an Outstanding service.
E Evidence - As with all businesses within the health and social care sector the provision of positive and accurate data is essential. This evidences our performance, our quality, our number of visits, any hours lost due to sickness absence or annual leave. Carefree provides the facility to log details and activity on both Service Users and staff records which is really useful. The accuracy and immediacy of being able to provide such a wide range of data at ‘a touch of the mouse’ is an absolute asset and certainly impresses our internal partners, external partners and most importantly the CCG!
